GEDSA is a proposed adaptive-geometry positive-displacement transport architecture for industrial bakery, formed-meat, and high-value food processing. Version 6 focuses on the linked problems of portioning accuracy, frictional thermal rise, and inclusion damage in continuous double-screw systems.
The architecture combines continuously variable pitch and flight depth, a magnetorheological-fluid cushioning annulus, and a three-layer predictive control stack with Kalman-filtered sensor fusion. These features are intended to alter screw geometry, damping, and thermal response during operation rather than requiring product-specific mechanical rebuilds.
The paper’s performance and economics are model-based engineering predictions. Its stated portioning, shear, thermal, and cost outcomes require prototype and production-scale validation before they can be treated as demonstrated operating results.
