Piccolo is a proposed governed electromagnetic portioning and slicing architecture for industrial meat and fish processing. It treats product state, tool state, thermal condition, local field state, and hygienic boundary as coupled variables within a governed cut-zone architecture rather than as isolated mechanical settings.
Five coordinated subsystems form the architecture: an EM stabilisation ring, predictive feed and indexing control, actuator governance, micro-zonal thermal conditioning, and hygienic surface topology. Cross-cutting mechanical support provides damping, stiffness, isolation, and rate limiting without becoming a sixth subsystem.
Version 8 formalises the product-eligibility boundary: a SKU with bone or inclusion geometry requires either a registered upstream map tied to the cut coordinates or a constrained specification held by a validated fixture. It also retains the State-of-Cut observer, the pre-cut dwell-zone approach for Phases 1 and 2, and an explicit dielectric-variability gate for the bounded EM hypothesis.
